| The Crystal Lakes Volunteer Fire Department is always looking for new firefighters and auxiliary members. You do not need previous firefighting experience or to be in top physical condition to help and you do not need to be on the mountain at all times.
Firefighters are expected to attend trainings (about six hours per month) and fire department meetings, and to answer emergency calls when they are on the mountain. They are also asked to help out with our community and fund-raising activities. Firefighters who serve ten or more years in good standing (attending thirty-six or more hours of training per year) are eligible to receive a pension.
Auxiliary are expected to attend fire department meetings and any trainings which apply to them (a few hours each year). Responding Auxiliary are expected to answer emergency calls when they are on the mountain. Supporting Auxiliary are contacted by phone if their assistance is needed to deliver food and water to firefighters during incidents or trainings. All Auxiliary are asked to help out with our community and fund-raising activities.
Please come to one of our department meetings (6:30 on the first Thursday of every month in the Fire Barn) to meet us and see if joining the fire department is for you. Or contact one of our Fire Board members for more information. Or, if you prefer, fill out the form below and a fire department member will contact you. |
