accepted as read and corrected. Motion passed.

MEETING: No Officers meeting was held.
PERSONNEL: Ken and Ann Sterling were presented to the department as new members,
Ken as a firefighter and Ann as a responding Auxiliary member. Kate
Kelly moved and Jane Tiffin seconded the motion that the Sterlings be

EQUIPMENT:
Marian Kelly reported that she still has maps of Beaver Meadows and lists of Lone Pine rentals if anyone needs them.
COMMUNICATIONS: None.
TRAINING: Ken May has organized the first responder class which will take place
every Monday, Wednesday and Friday in October from 6 pm to 9 pm in the
Wapiti room. Class will start on October 2nd. Wednesday classes will be
from 6pm to 10:00 pm. Rare absences may be made up. There will be 3 or
4 instructors starting with CPR. Everyone will be state certified.
Training on Thursday, Sept 10th will be a simulated structure fire. A
page will be sent at 5:40 pm and everyone should respond as if this
were a real structure fire except without lights and sirens.
Communication will be on Channel 2. Steve Robinson of RFLFD will act as
900 for the incident. A thorough critique and debriefing will follow.
Auxiliary will station people to direct traffic.
Ken Sterling asked if homes in CL have pet stickers. Most do not so
this would be a good future project for the department.
Kate Kelly reported on the traffic control training in Fort Collins
attended by Ray and Jeanette Williams, Jody Sandquist and Kate. Some
important things to remember are: never turn your back on traffic,
always wear vests and set out cones. Have a flashlight and turn off
forward facing vehicle lights to not blind responders. Always park on
only one side of the road.
Marian Kelly has placed a clip board with forms in each truck for
reporting incidents. The passenger in each truck must take notes and
fill out this form. It was noted that 900 confirms times. Kate Kelly
and Jim Tiffin will keep data for auxiliary.
SAFETY: Jody Sandquist reported that participants in last week's training were
not wearing ear plugs which are necessary to protect hearing. Doug
Blunt suggested that the dept. look into ear muffs on helmets instead
of plugs. Also the person on the pump must make radio contact with
firefighters and not have spectators do it.
Swine flu is here so use
sanitary wipes, if sick stay home. 30 to 50% will get the flu and it
will peak by mid-October.
AUXILIARY: Sherry Alexander reported that the auxiliary has $6851.06 in the bank.
Ken Sterling offered to donate knives to the silent auction or logo
sales during the craft fair.
Jeanette Williams asked for the sizes of people qualifying for jackets
in December. They must be ordered soon.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Ken May will put up signs on the LZ noting that is is private property
and people should not trespass. If anyone sees people on the LZ they
should gently inform them that they cannot stay there. Property owner
has given the CLVFD permission to secure the site. A wind sock is to be
installed. MedEvac might donate a sock.
The By Laws committee will meet
on Tuesday to revise bylaws according to member input.
Marian and Kate
Kelly will paint office trim on Wednesday. Several people will be
needed on Thursday to move the furniture in.
Another work day is
needed. It was decided that Wed, Sept 16 and Sunday Sept 20th would be
work days. Marian will page members.
Ray Williams reported on his
research on cell phones. There are many plans available. Ken Sterling
reported that his cell bought at Walmart with a card is very reliable
and cheap.
Sherry Alexander moved and Sharon Cooper seconded a motion to try one
of these phones in Engine 2 to see if it would work. Ken Sterling has a
spare that he will loan us. Motion passed.
Many thanks to Ray Williams for his research.

Respectfully submitted,
Kate Kelly, Secretary
